Our Goals

The foundation’s principal objective is to help improve the clinical management of children and adults diagnosed to have blood cancer (hematological malignancies) by enhancing the understanding of these diseases, both from the health care professionals (HCP) and patients’ perspectives. Since inception in 2012, we have organized and developed educational support program for HCPs, patients and patient advocacy leaders working in the some of the developing regions in Africa and India. The HCPs comprise of physicians, physician-assistants, nurses and pharmacists, who do not have easy access to appropriate educational tools and are likely to face challenges in their efforts to update their knowledge and skills for providing the best clinical practice.

We work closely with a team of global clinical leaders in hematological malignancies and stem cell transplantation, who help to develop the content of the various programs and novel interactive educational tools. We work to establish supportive long-term relationships between the HCPs in the candidate countries and the international hematology/oncology community, including patient advocacy groups. Whenever possible we work alongside suitable partners, such as International Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Foundation (iCMLf), patient advocacy groups and the pharmaceutical industry, to help patients in these challenging parts of the world to gain access to candidate therapies, including novel cancer drugs in efforts to optimize patients’ outcomes. We help to foster a culture for the safe and effective use of such drugs.
